Healing is so important

Our old hurts have a way of coming back to taunt us at the seemingly worst moments.

Things from our childhood we assume were gone — because we pushed them down so far they lie dormant for decades. Only to discover them in the first disagreement of that new relationship, when a small matter triggers you into a complete meltdown. Or the betrayal by a friend in your junior year of high school, creeping up on you in that office as a coworker takes your idea and adopts it as their own.

Truth is, we repeat what we don't repair — and even if we haven't thought about it, that doesn't mean it's gone.

Do your future self a favor and seek healing. Get alone with God and allow Him to show you the areas that need His healing touch. Then, whatever awaits you, you'll be ready for it — not triggered into it.
